DJ Funkmaster Flex is adding author to his résumé .
VIBE reports that Funk Flex is teaming up with writer Karen Hunter to drop a book of stories about the late Notorious B.I.G. In this untitled book, the Hot 97 DJ drops a bomb about Biggie’s hit “Who Shot Ya?” He says it was not meant for Biggie and was originally packaged for the Queen of Hip Hop Soul.
“The song “Who Shot Ya” was originally an intro for Mary J. Blige’s album. Uptown/MCA said it was too hard. The song in its original form had a verse from Big, Keith Murray and LL Cool J, though LL never did his verse. The song still exists!”
The book, which will be published by Simon Schuster, doesn’t have a release date.
