Last month we shared a story on a Cleveland woman, 37 year-old Ralkina Jones, who was discovered dead in her jail cell. Police have just released the video of Ralkina roughly about 15 hours before she died. She discussed her special medical needs with the Cleveland Heights officers saying “I’m not asking for any exception to any rules, but I will tell you this: I don’t want to die in your cell.” Jones was initially brought in for assault, child endangerment, and domestic violence charges after an altercation with her ex husband. Jones notified the officers that she suffered from Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and of her mandatory prescriptions stating “What happens is, when I go from a sitting to a standing position, I faint.” She was sent to the hospital after officials noticed she was looking out of it and was later brought back to her jail cell where she became unresponsive.
