The Nevada Supreme Court has been left to make the final decision regarding the fate of fallen sports hero OJ Simpson. Sentenced to serve 9 to 33 years in relation to a 2008 kidnapping and armed robbery conviction in which he attempted to retrieve items he claims were stolen from him; Simpson has continued to fight the charges. After going through the lower court system, Nevada’s Supreme Court has the option to hear oral arguments, though District Attorney Steve Wolfson has declined to comment at this time. Now 67, Simpson is not actually eligible for parole until 2017.

Ever since the internet has taken over, magazines have been suffering. Many magazines have folded and decided to put their energy into their online editions and now Sister 2 Sister magazine has been forced to do the same. The women’s mag has reportedly filed for bankruptcy protection and is putting the print edition on hiatus. While the magazine is on hold, the focus will be put on their website. Their money problems have seemed to affect the payroll of their writers as well. A writer took to Twitter to voice his frustrations with the publication. “Never do biz with Sister to Sister mag! I did 3 stories for them 3 months ago. Now they say they are bankrupt and can’t pay me!” journalist Manny Otiko posted on his timeline yesterday (Oct.27). Sister 2 Sister has been up-and-running for 25 years. The owner and publisher Jamie Foster Brown is currently preparing a statement about the status of the magazine.

DJ Funkmaster Flex is adding author to his résumé . VIBE reports that Funk Flex is teaming up with writer Karen Hunter to drop a book of stories about the late Notorious B.I.G. In this untitled book, the Hot 97 DJ drops a bomb about Biggie’s hit “Who Shot Ya?” He says it was not meant for Biggie and was originally packaged for the Queen of Hip Hop Soul. “The song “Who Shot Ya” was originally an intro for Mary J. Blige’s album. Uptown/MCA said it was too hard. The song in its original form had a verse from Big, Keith Murray and LL Cool J, though LL never did his verse. The song still exists!” The book, which will be published by Simon Schuster, doesn’t have a release date.

The New York Times reports that the footwear company has taken legal action against 31 companies for trademark infringement. In 22 separate lawsuits filed in the U.S District Court in Brooklyn on Oct. 14th, Converse named companies like Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Sketchers, Ralph Lauren, FILA and others claiming that they have copied the design of their Chuck Taylor sneaker. Converse has also filed a separate complaint with the International Trade Commission to stop these companies from selling what they consider Chuck Taylor imitations. The ITC has the power to prevent anything considered fake from entering the country to be sold. “The goal really is to stop this action,” Converse chief executive Jim Calhoun told NYT. “I think we’re quite fortunate here to be in the possession of what we would consider to be an American icon.” The amount that Converse is seeking has not been disclosed.

Suge Knight is one step closer to getting justice -- cops now believe they know who shot him 6 times on the Sunset strip ... but they still face a major hurdle to closing the case. The producers of the gossip-filled television program The Wendy Williams Show is facing a class action lawsuit from one of its former interns. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anthony Tart filed the suit against the Lionsgate entertainment company and its subsidiary Debmar-Mercury claiming the show owes him and other interns payment for the work they performed for the talk show. All that begging and pleading didn’t work for Robin Thicke. His high school sweetheart and wife of nine years Paula Patton has filed for divorce. According to documents obtained by TMZ, the soon-to-be former Mrs. Thicke filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Oct. 3rd citing irreconcilable differences. Ever since the couple separated eight months ago, Thicke has made it no secret that he messed up and he would do anything to get her back. The “Blurred Lines” singer took begging to another level when he released an album named Paula full of pleads for his baby to take him back. In a deposition for a lawsuit regarding the “Blurred Lines” hit, Thicke revealed that he had battled a drug addiction last year and that contributed to the deterioration of his marriage. The couple has a 4-year-old son.

Compton rapper King Tee was not pleased with fellow West Coast native Coolio bringing up an old fight between he and 2Pac in a recent interview. While speaking with Spin, Coolio recalled witnessing Pac’s entourage “whooping [Tee's] ass” outside a nightclub back in the 1990’s. Lil’ Wayne is being stingy with his young money. TMZ reports that producer Ramon Owen, who goes by REO, has slapped Wayne with a lawsuit for not paying up after Owen produced the 2012 hit “Mirror” which features Bruno Mars. In his lawsuit, REO claims that he was promised a portion of the profits made from the song and was even sent a statement from Young Money/Cash Money Records saying that he was entitled to a minimum of $91,000. “Mirror” appears on the 2011 album The Carter IV, which sold three million copies worldwide.

Atlanta native Young Thug has upset some residents of St. Louis. The “Stoner” rapper’s comments about the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri has led to an online call to ban Thug from STL.
