Jas Prince: Birdman [Still] Owes Me Millions

UPDATE: Back in May, it seemed like Jas Prince’s lawsuit against YMCMB was over. Apparently, that’s not the case. TMZ is reporting that although he recently filed documents to dismiss his Florida federal lawsuit against Birdman and Aspire Music Group, he plans to file again in New York. Prince is seeking millions in unpaid royalties and claims to be the one who brought Drake to Young Money. In May, word got out that a judge had thrown out the case; and last month, it was revealed that a settlement deal had been reached with at least two of Aspire's shareholders. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ PREVIOUSLY: Jas Prince: Birdman Owes Me Millions The legal discord keeps getting worse over at Cash Money Records. Jas Prince, son of Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J. Prince, hasn’t given up his bout with the label over Drake, and claims he’s owed millions in overdue royalties. According to TMZ, Prince filed new legal docs to get Cash Money to fess up to just how much revenue Drake has generated for the label. Prince is credited for discovering the Toronto rapper, and aligning him with YMCMB. | CLICK HERE FOR DRAKE: A YEAR IN REVIEW | The Texas native says he’s helped Birdman’s imprint make $40 million of the reported $84 million Drake has brought them over the years. Cash Money has so far paid Prince at least $1 million, which is far below what he says he’s owed. Prince contends to signing Drake to Young Empire Music Group, and bringing him over to Aspire Music Group around 2008. The company, which is co-owned by Wayne’s manager, Cortez Bryant, reportedly signed October’s Own to a label and management deal with distribution through Cash Money, and Universal Music Group. In the original suit, Prince claims to have entered into an oral agreement with Bryant’s company to “split profits accordingly.” Prince says he was promised “22 percent of Aspire’s share profits.” Cash Money attempted to have the suit thrown out. Prince's latest filing comes less than a month after Lil Wayne brought a $51 million lawsuit against the label. Dr. Dre's Former Counselor Files Restraining Order Against Him

Dr. Dre is currently embroiled in a legal battle with Dr. Charles Sophy. The latter served as Dre's divorce counselor when the legendary producer was splitting from his wife. The divorce was finalized years ago, but Dr. Sophy has come forth with a number of harrowing allegations against Dre. He alleges that he was subjected to threats via text message, and that Dre used "homophobic rhetoric" against him. Due to these claims, Dr. Sophy filed a restraining order against him. TMZ confirmed the order on October 11. Dr. Sophy filed a temporary restraining order against Dr. Dre on the basis of the allegations made against him. The son of Ryan Routh -- the alleged would-be Donald Trump assassin -- has been arrested for possession of child pornography. TMZ got their hands on the court docs ... revealing Oran Routh was taken into custody after investigators say they found hundreds of child pornography files during a search of his Guilford County, North Carolina home Saturday. Ryan Wesley Routh arrest The search was "in connection with an investigation unrelated to child exploitation" -- and a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Carolina told ABC News the unrelated investigation was linked to his dad, Ryan, who’s still locked up without bond awaiting his trial. In the criminal complaint, investigators claim they found videos from a "known child pornography series created outside the state of North Carolina" stored on an SD card from a Samsung Galaxy Note in Oran's bedroom, along with another Galaxy Note that was in Routh's possession.
